Do you live near Chicago? I am 50 mile Southwest in Yorkville. (Rt 47 and the Fox river)

I live in Chicago on the northwest side. If you are familiar with the city, I am close to Western and Lawrence. The forrest preserves around here are loaded with deer. No one hunts them so they are tame. I dont get the chance to go to Wisconsin where I hunt as much as I would like to look for sheds at the right time of year, so I take some walks here. I dont know if its exactly the time that they shed or not. At least it gets me out of the house. Ill keep looking.

I went back looking again for sheds in the forrest preserve again yesterday. Its also a golf course. No luck with sheds, but I found 14 more golf balls. I got some pictures of some bucks with only one antler. I need my kids to show me how to post pictures.

Are all the bucks dropping there antlers right now or just the big bucks?

I saw 3 bucks on Sunday at the forrest preseve/golf course. All 3 had one antler. They all had the antler on the same side. I got close enough to get pictures, and as soon as I can get my kids to show me how to post them I will. At first I thought that it was the same deer I was seeing, but one had 2, the other had 3, and the 3rd had 4. I saw a lot of deer and they all seemed to be does. Maybe they have shed already but I had no luck except for the golf balls.

I think it is too early to hunt for sheds, But if you are seeing them missing antlers I could be wrong. I usually am looking during spring Turkey scouting. It's much warmer then. Good luck and any time in the woods is always a good thing.
