Hey all. First time posting on here. My name is Steven Berg. I own SB Skullworks (www.sbskullworks.com) and specialize in strictly skulls. I am an avid outdoorsmen and that is what got me into beetle cleaning skulls, etc. However, I want to venture out and get into some other aspects of taxidermy starting with some fish and then some deerheads. So, I caught a couple nice perch, wrapped them up and put them in the freezer. Been doing a lot of reading on here and some other forums as well as the Breakthrough Fish Taxidermy book. Just seems like a lot of different methods to accomplish the same thing. So looking for some guidance here. Where would you all suggest starting? I see Fish taxidermy kits that have fish filler, I see others using foam bodies, and the Breakthrough book has "quickcast" or "halfcast" methods. Do you all choose one method and stick with it or does it vary depending on the fish? And what do you suggest me doing? Any and all suggestions, pointers, help, etc., would be awesome.

Glad to see some activity on here! I haven't done many fish, but I use pre-made foam bodies and have had good luck. Hopefully one of the fish guys sees your post and replies. Good Luck!
