Hello All,
I'm a recent graduate of a taxidermy school and have a few fish to do already and they have come out great even if I do say so myself..lol. My question is how do I fix a busted up fin or broken fin on a already mounted fish. I'm hoping there is a short cut of sorts...My gut tells me to strip the fish and fix the fins and repaint the mount. I'm really hoping that's not the case. I'm not sure how I would blend the colors of repainting the fin to match the fish. Any and all suggestion and helpful techniques would be greatly appreciated.

fixing broken fins are relatively easy, just tape fin back into shape (provied all parts are there) and coat with a good fin glue such as tuf fin (only one I can think of name of right now) after drying real good you will just have to rely on your painting skills, i find blending repaired fins pretty easy.
