I mounted the second deer of the season today. It all went smoothly, I'm glad to say. I'll post pictures tomorrow. This was a nice 8 point buck with a really pretty blonde forehead.

I don't have my license, so I can't charge yet. I'm looking to apply for that and also for my fictitious name in the upcoming months, so I can start getting some money for my time. Currently my customers just give me money for the materials.

Nina, if they are friends that can keep their mouths shut there is nothing wrong with making a few bucks for your time. yes its wrong, yes its not legal, but did you know in this stupid state of ours that LEGALLY you can not return a mounted animal to the person who gifted it to you? even if you payed out of your pocket every single dime to mount it. I think that is ridiculous. so if you want my opinion, keep hush hush and make a few bucks, I did it, every taxi i know did it, I'll bet even paul czarnecki did it in his day. (of course thats just a guess and in know way am i accusing the president of the pta of any wrongdoing) that should cover my butt in a slander suit lol. but keep up the great work and get that stupid license, I need someone to send all my tough work to lol. Yeah Derek, there's really no other way for me to practice. But my customers are only friends who know me, so they won't tell anyone. I just hope I get the license soon enough. I'm going to look into it soon. I already have about a hundred dollars saved up. Here is the deer. Only one pic for now, until I finish it completely.

I'm not sure on donations though??? might check on that you know a couple houndred and a signed paper saying donation to nina and so on then few weeks later gift him a mount. I'm gifting crows in exchange I get one mounted.really crows aren't to be sold or bartered but they are gift comeing at seperate time so.

I took more pics of the deer.......but no matter how hard I try, I always get a weird glare, or the colors turn out wrong....I have two cameras...the one cheapo Kodak Easyshare, and the camera on my phone. Neither of them take good pictures. But the one on my phone is a lot better than the Kodak. I think it's time for a new camera. lol

my phone makes everything look tinted yellow. i tried positioning the deer in front of a white sheet, and took the pic, and i got an ugly looking tint.
