Thanks guys. I got the plate made up at a local trophy shop. I went in told them what I wanted and the next day they were done. I think they ran me about $4.00 each. Unlimited letters.

circleh, Did you freeze dry those feet or mount them? I just skinned a pair of deer feet today and was reminded how much fun it is. They have to be the hardest thing to skin...ever. I had lots of trouble getting the bones out of the hooves but found an easier way to do it that helped a lot. ;p

I actually saw this on taxidermy.net so can't take credit. Instead of leaving the hooves intact and prying the bones out as is, Just take a sharp knife and make a cut along the soft fleshy bottom of the hoof. If you have to (which I do) just remove all of that fleshy stuff. You can build it back up later with Apoxie Sculpt and paint to match color. I like this method because it is a heck of a lot easier and it exposes the bone underneath the hoof. Also, putting the leg in a vise so you can work on it is necessary. Struggling with a deer foot on a table with just your hands will get you no where and give you a headache. lol

I mounted them and yeah it was a pain in the butt. Once I did a few it got easier though. I'll have to try your way on the next set. I think next week I am going to start a deer shoulder mount and the guy wants it on a shield with a double gun rack on the bottom.

I mounted the feet. Bought the name plate and the panel. I bought the panel instead of making it because I just didn't have the time to make one.
