I was splitting the ears last night on my dear cape and put a nice size hole in the ear. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this when I go to mount the deer? Should i sew it up or pin it together and let the glue hold it nice and tight? Its a pretty big hole prob about 4 in. Im pretty mad about it its my first time putting a hole in the ear.

That sucks, I did that recently with a doe cape. You can use a really small needle and thread and sew it up with really small stitches, but the repair job will most likely still be visible when you do the mount. Your best bet is to use an old dryer sheet and some super glue and patch the cut back together.

if the cut is 4 inches I would sew it, I have not had any luck with the dryer sheets and super glue on cuts that size, smaller ones it does great on

Needle and thread then epoxy to texture with a well blended paint job will cover about any mistake. Been there done that way to many times.
