you can get as many answers to this as there are people to give them but anyway here is mine. I have 3 brushes I use, I have an Iwata HP-BC which is actually my best that is use for painting fish, it gives great detail and is easy to use and clean up, I also have a pasche VL!, double action that I also use on fish for the wider patterns and some of the detail and also have a sinble action pasche that is used mostly for the repetitive detail like spotting and such on fish, also use this one painting noses on deer and other animals, it is very easy to use does a great job and is easily cleaned up, also this one is very dependable as mine is about 25 years old and still works as well as a new one. You will just have to decide for yourself if you want the double action to control paintflow with the finger or an single action adjusting one and also what you are mostly going to use it for, my advise would be the double action because that is what I learned on and am the most used to but a lot of others swear by the single actions. Good Luck.

I have a pasche VL double action. I like it. It might take a little bit of time to get use to the double action part. I think the control you get is worth it.
