Your mounts looks very good. How many mounts have you done? Are you doing taxidermy for other people or just yourself? There are only a couple little things i noticed. Your tear ducts look like they could be tucked in a little bit more. When the ears are back on the deer they have muscle tone that shows i dont know how to explain it exactly but take a look at a reference pic of a ear back. Your nose is open more than i like, but some people like them open wider. Where are you getting your antlers may i ask?

Only thing I can see is maybe the tucking of the tear ducts, notice one is curving forward and the other curving backward, bth should have a slight forward curve to them, and also like previously said a little muscle definition in the ear butts, other than that its a very nice deer.

Thanks for the comments guys! This was the 9th deer I have done and all the photos are of clients deer except for the boar. I bought the boar tanned and mounted it for my showroom that I am slowly getting larger. The latest deer was shot in central Illinois and the others all came from the deer camp I hunt in in Southern Illinois. Biggest one scored 160 gross. I have been using the Epply system ear butts with epply liners to go with them and I did not think I needed to add any clay to them. I will try to post a photo of them to show you what I mean. It will be a busy week, I leave Wed. night for a 5 day turkey hunt. Thanks again, Brian

Your doing a great job keep up the good work. You need clay to make sure the ear stays in place, otherwise over time it might slide around or move. So is that your 9th deer you've done total or just the 9th deer for a customer?

That was the ninth deer total that I have mounted. I only mounted 2 for myself before taking on clients work. The ear butts are hard plastic and I counter sink a 3 inch screw into the plywood on the skull so that they will not move during assembly or after the fact. Thanks for the comments. Brian
