Trying to get back in the groove of things after having the baby.
I'd like to build a salting rack - something to use to catch the excess salt, and catch the fluids. Hubby is a bit of a neat freak and I'd like to accommodate his request not to make an unholy mess in the garage.
My tentative idea is to make a sort of box with some extra OSB or plywood and 2x4s, with chicken fencing I have left over from my garden on top. I saw a post in the old taxi.net archives for making the box tilted so I could drill a hole in the bottom corner to allow the fluids to drain out.
Ideas? Pictures would be better. The less I have to buy, the better. I have a pretty large scrap piece of OSB, some more scraps of plywood (3'x4', some longer but not as wide), 2x4's and some rough hewn 2x8. I have chicken, rabbit and livestock fencing.
Right now, the only critters I'd be using it for are things like coons, deer capes, and possibly the coyote that's been living in my freezer. Nothing huge.
Thanks! Jen
