I just did a bluegill the other day and it did not turn out to well. The show side is a little flat and there is a spot just before the tail where the skin did not adhere to the filler. Any ideas on how to fix the spot. Also any ideas on what to do on my next so it is not flat on the show side.

Cant say what your problem is but if you will look in the fish catagory back a few days for a thread from Cecil it goes into pretty good detail with pics included on the half cast method, you may be able to see what your problem was and how to fix it next time, the thread to look for is as follows
Modified Half Cast Method for Panfish « Thread Started on Feb 4, 2008, 9:40am »
Hope this will help you James

I did it like Cecil said. This is the third one that turned out flat on the show side. Cecil did tell me that maybe the plaster was to firm on the last one, when I pushed the fish into it. I have a couple more to do of my own before I do this with a customers fish.

Yeah sounds like your plaster is too firm and you are pressing down and compressing the fish.
If you skin is not adhering somewhere that is usually due to pulling it off of the filler after it has set.

Is the lifted skin going to be a problem when I paint it? Is there a way to fix it before I paint? Like maybe let that area soak in water for a few minutes to let it sodten and then put some mache or apoxy in to fill the void?
