Here he is with two modified half cast mounted rock bass that he brought for specimens, a brook trout specimen he brought that he carved the body for -- using a Gary Bruch cast head, and a pedestal bass he also carved a body for that orginally came from one of my ponds. Fish in the picture are secured for transport. Tony was a pleasure to have as a student and those Elk steaks he brought were delicious! He was here for two days so the fish are mounted but unfinished. Tony had never skinned or mounted a skin mount fish before. Tony is experienced in other taxidermy and is a fast learner. I was impressed! Tony drove all the way to my place from Wisconsin.

Looks like he did a very good job mounting, must have been some pretty good teaching.

Here is Jim Sebastian of Cincinnati, Ohio. He just completed his two day fish mounting course today. Just like Tony, Jim impressed me with how fast he picked up carving fish bodies! Why did I have so much trouble when I first started out? Oh yeah I was on my own! ;D Jim had no previous fish experience. The bluegill and crappie were mounted using the modified half cast method and the smallmouth Jim carved. Jim will be back to do the finish work and paint them. Just like Tony, Jim was a pleasure to have in my home.

Great job.
Cecil you and I will have to do some serious talking when we come out fishing this year. My biggest fear is painting.

Jim Sebastian was back again to do the finish work and paint the fish in this picture. Here are his finished fish. Not bad for his three first fish!
