Here it is, the other competition buck, just mounted yesterday. I thought it was never going to make it to competition, I had a big hide paste mess and it got in the hair on the seam, which was extremely hard to clean up. I will get more pics after it dries, after I finish it. The white in front of the eye is not the glass eye itself, that's clay...in case someone points out the incorrect white of the eye showing. lol I think I improved on my ear butts, Since I didn't have a reference cast, I thawed a button buck head I had sitting in my freezer and used it as reference. I know there's lots of pins on the mouth area but I'm trying to card it because I'm sick of uneven hair lines and hair sticking up along the lipline. Hopefully this will help.

lol thanks. I'm finishing it today. I'm surprised how fast it dried. I guess cuz it was such a thin skin. But I had a "snow day" because it was soo cold outside they canceled school. So I'll be working on things all day.

thanks, here are new finished pics It's finished, but I know there's a few fine points I could make better. I might decide to go back and change or repaint some things, this is a competition deer so I've been putting lots of time into it and studying it. I already found a lot of things wrong with it. But I think I improved on this deer since the buck I did last.

the nose may be alittle too slick black, the nodules arent very visible, but it looks really good, the fur is nice and fluffed.

thanks trky, my camera still doesnt do any justice to the mount though. thats why it appears without noddules and slick black.

I was always wondering with all those pins to hold things in place, doesn't it leave holes in the skin in the lip area? If it does, how do you repair them?
