im thinking of trying ear magic instead of liners on my next deer. what are your preferences?is one method really any better than the other?

Nope, either is good, as long as you do it right.
Although I prefer liners, I'm actually thinking of using Ear Magic on my doe, because her ears were just a little smaller than the liners that came in today.

If you prefer the liners just trim them to fit, I usually have to trim any that I use the liners in although I am now using ear magic and love it, you can really make the ears thin and make any kind of shape for any expression you want with it, but you better be really ready to put it in and shape ears when you mix it though cause it will set up on you quickly, so best to use it on a spare or something before thinking of a customer or competition mount with ear magic.

I like using the bondo method. I think they are easier to shape for the look you are looking for. If you have problems getting the basic shape of the ear. They sell molds that you can press the ear onto to get the basic shape of the ear.

Ive used both, and prefer liners except when you have an ear thats torn or otherwise mishapen (sp) my problem with bondo is, even if you think you have the ears turned all the way, alot of times the bottoms of the ears wont get enough bondo in them and you have to card them, that looks ok at first but over time they will curl on you. for the most part thought they are both good methods

Where do you get the fibers to chop and mix with the bondo?
