One of the biggest thing's about taxidermy is coming up with ways to fix problems. I have 149 deer to mount, and it seems like I have run into more problems this year than I ever have in the past. I just solved this one and thought I'd share it with all of you so you know how I fixed it. when this deer was brought to me, the left antler had been shot completly off, about 3 inches above the base. there was a chunk blow out of the side of it where the slug hit it, and the lower part was broken off the skull. The cape had smell to it, but it tanned ok. The processor split it all the way up to about on inch from the lower lip. Sewed for 3 hours to fix it, that turned out ok. Got it mounted, but the right ear looked awful. very little hair, left one super hairy. The inner ear skin, when it dried was all wrinkley, just looked bad, so I had to fix it. First I cut out the inner ear then I took an extra ear, cut the inner part of it out, and tanned it ran super glue around the edge of liner and deepest part of liner, then put 5min epoxy on the rest of it,then attached the skin to the liner. and here is the finished product

great job fixing problems, seems like every time you turn around in taxidermy you find a new problem and have to figure out someway to patch it up and make it work.
