My current project is a buck mount that will be reaching up for grapes on a vine suspended out in front of him. This is my dad's archery buck from this year, and I wanted to do something a little different than the regular shoulder mount. I had a shoulder mount form with a slight right turn, and when first looking at it, it seemed kind of boring. So I did this to it. I used a frozen skinned buck head for reference when sculpting the jaw set with Apoxie Sculpt. I used the real bottom teeth. There was no way I was going to buy a $30 jaw set when I could make one on my own, which turned out to be more fun. I should have casted it but did not have the materials on hand to do that...I will be looking into casting jaw sets in the future though. I even made a tongue for it with Apoxie, and textured it with a real frozen deer tongue. The setup is not perfect but this is what it might look like when everything's adjusted. I already know its flaws. The upper palate is set too low, but this isn't a competition mount so I'm not concerned...at least I'll know better next time. I'm probably going to play with adjusting things a little more, and alter the jaw more so that it hinges in the correct place and not in the middle of the lower jaw. What's funny is that I used to avoid doing custom work like this, but now I can't get enough of it lol

I textured it with the frozen deer tounge off my reference head, so I should be good.

Looking good! Was the original tongue that wide? Keep us posted on the progress.
