Aftter browsing through reference photos on pbase, I found one that was pretty unique. I'm now going to challenge myself to pull this off in a half lifesize mount. Ill start with a fresh killed deer, cape it out for half lifesize, keep the two front legs, and take tons of pics of the muscles in the leg/chest area whle it is skinned. Then I'll order a full sneak mannikin, and cast the front legs to match the position in the photo. I might have to make some other alterations to get the legs to fit the shoulder form, and I'll probably have to add some more body to the form to lengthen it out in order to be half lifesize. But since seeing this photo, I'm excited to start on this mount. What do you guys think?

Go for it! It'll be a lot of work, but you can do it. You may need to sculpt a little more shoulder than what the form gives you. Good luck

Maybe there will even be video clips. I feel so creative lol I can't wait to start. Maybe I can do a video from the hunt, to the kill, to caping, and mounting, finish work etc. Wouldn't that be cool

go for it Nina. Just for laughs put a flushing pheasant in front of it. The deer looks like a pointer ready to flush a bird! LOL
