I havent done whitetails in a few years because we have about 10 taxidermists in a 20 mile radius and half of them are charging $300 or less

$425.00 and before the deer season starts it is going to $450.00. I am not the cheapest or the most expensive but I have seen the cheaper guys work and you get what you pay for. I don't know how you guys can do a deer for $300. You are selling yourself short.

Well that seems to be the going price in the area, and I do it part time and don't have a lot of overhead. Although with prices on everything going up there may be a few adjustment in my future prices.

this year it is $400 but next year will be $600 due to the fact that I am goinig to quit doing deer and only do birds and fish but will do a deer if someone wants me to bad enough to pay my new price, gonna do birds and fish about 3 or 4 more years then gonna quit alltogether except for maybe a very few closest friends and family.

Are you raising your prices because supplies is more expensive now?

Yes, supplies and everything else is higher. Plus, if I were working for someone else, I'd get a raise. Hubby gets a raise every year plus he usually gets a cost-of-living raise too. Why shouldn't I get one too?
If I don't go up, I'll be taking a pay cut. I don't know too many people that would be very happy if their boss came in and told them they had to do the same job, or better, but for less money this year.
