I have mounted whitetail deer. I was wondering how hard it is to do a coyote mount?

Its all about the same, just a little more time consuming since you have more places to tuck hide.

Yep like Jw said it is more time consuming. Go pick up a video. That will give you step by step instructions, but all the basics are the same. I think you will enjoy it. You can do so much more with a life size mount. If you have anymore questions let us know.

Well I will try to help ya out but it's hard to describe some of it. Another idea is go to a library and get a book. The book would have pics with detailed instructions. Oh and the best part i is free. Now it might not be a coyote but all mammals are basically the same. First I usually like to do a dorsal cut which means you make your first incision down the back. OH don't gut it. That is just gives you more to sew. I usually start around the center of the shoulder blades and cut back to the base of the tail. Then slowly work my way down the sides and back toward the tail. Then work down the legs and separate the first joint you come to. Do that to both legs. Leave the rest of the leg in the skin for now. Now skin out the tail. Then work your way back forward and skin the front legs the same as the back and separate at the same joint. Then work your way up the head. And this part is like the deer.
Now I go back to the legs. I take a string and tie one end of it on the meat side of the leg and the other end to my bench to help hold it. Just work the hide down the legs. You may have to make a relief cut down by the paw so that you can turn it inside out. Skin it down to the last joint. The book will give you more detail, but this will give you an idea.
