Not sure if there is Interest or not, but here is a Little walkthrough on how I paint a Female Pumpkinseed sunfish. As always Each fish should be handled differently, and this is only how I do it. www.knuthart.com/joshua/blog/?p=11Good Luck

Josh,
Scratch the offer to post your pics here. You website is too outstanding and thorough to want to do so!
Hey is that pumpkinseed blank available for purchase? I am doing a massive diaroma for South Dakota State Universty. The attorney that has commissioned the piece would like to have a pumpkinseed in it. Trouble is I'm not sure if I will find a skin mount speciman here.

It is actually a modified Female Bluegill. I had to adjust the fins and the head shape. I do have a mold if you are interested. Iam sure I could set something up for you. Here is a Link to my website, www.knuthart.com/joshua/taxidermyfish.htmlClick on Products for taxidermists to see the Blanks I have available. I have a few that are not listed that I just finished the production molds of. I just to get off my rump and update it.

Wow! I went to your website. Very impressive. I think I will be ordering a pumpkinseed blank from you in the future. I don't need the diarama done until July and have other priorities right now.
I also have a state record cisco that I was going to do skin mount of. Everyone tells me it may fall apart as I skin it. Any possiblity you would be willing to mold it if I convince the customer to do it? It is a little dried up though.

Nice website. I am doing a pumpkin seed for the Louisiana and Oklahoma shows this year, maybe go to Texas show with it also, but I prefer using airbrush for my painting, do use an artsit brush at times for tipping and such.

I'm doing a articulation for 3-d art.... and a coon pedistal mount as a entry i'll enter as amature or something low on the totem.

Glad to see you are going to enter something this year Weasel, just enter and let the judge give you his critique and listen to it and you will learn and only get better with each mount you do.

You or Cecil don't happen to have anything like this for bluegill? I'm new to using powders and pencils and I always like to go by some guide for my first one. Any help would be appreciated!

As far as powders or pencils I don't JR. I'm almost exclusively an airbrush guy.

jknuth,
Would you recommend using this schedule for a skin mount. I am going to be painting one in a week or so. It is a really dark fish that was caught through the ice. Before it dried it had some orangeish spots on the side of it on a few scales. Not sure what color to use for them.
Does anyone else have a schedule for a pumpkinseed shin mount (Cecil)?
