As a full-time fish specialist I've never seen it this slow. I hope it picks up this spring, or I may be flipping burgers -- although someone told me they're not hiring either. Sure glad I do wholesale but it sure is a pay cut. Not complaining or whining just an observation. One advantage is no nagging "when you are going get my fish done" calls. And any fish I take in gets mounted right away, especially if it's a panfish! How about any other fish specialists out there?

I talked to a couple guys around here and they did real good in taking in deer and small game but was real slow on birds and has so far been slow on fish, maybe it will pick up a little.

I've got a smallmouth waiting at one of my pick up drop off points and an individual is supposed to bring a largemouth in today. So maybe things are picking up due to the warming weather and increased photo period. The largemouth customer is asking about what is required for a deposit. Not always a good sign.

I took in a musky tonight. The customer didn't flinch at the price and laid down about 60 percent deposit.
