Ideas as to what to charge for shop time? I have a younger fellow that knows some taxidermy and want to learn more. What should I charge for shop time? When I teach him something new I feel I should also be compensated. But he also need to use my shop and tools for some of his own work. These will all be projects for himself not customers.

I know this is a old post, but this is what I do.
I will share my tools, but they must clean them and put them back. They clean up their messes, and I have them prep manikins, if you (taxidermist) feel comfortable with their skinning ability, I will have them skin capes out for rough salting.
I dont charge them a hourly fee, most cant afford it, so I get things done to make my life easier. When they are progressing along, whatever im mounting for that day I have them mount another one. This way my work is getting done (cause with them there its slowing me down) and they are learning as well.
