I have heard that you should inject muscle with some chemicals to freeze dry properly. Is this true?

Your manufactures do not recommend using different chemicals due to the potential failure of their gaskets. I do not inject anything in to the muscles other than pure water if needed. Also fat is not treated with in your freeze drying process, remove as much as you can and replace it with pillow ticking. Think of fat as oil, you take 30 weight oil down to -0 and it is thicker, take it back to 70 degrees and it is 30 weight again. The same with fat except that you have broken up the structure of the molecules and removed the water from it.
