i just got finished with a winter habitat scene, and used one of the methods in the Breakthrough Habitat and Exhibit manual using cotton and artificial water and it turned out amazing. As soon as I can I will post some pics. I wasn't so sure of being able to do it, but even my stump in the scene looks real. It starts with icicles on the stump, with wet icy snow, packed snow, wet fluffy snow, and then fluffy dry snow on the top. Now i'm wanting to change it up some and add a frozen stream to the bottom and add some sheet ice to the bottom of the stump to make it like the water has fell some. Anyways, when it is completed, hopefully this week, I will post some pics.

Sounds like a nice piece, the biggest problem I have found with snow is it acts like another magnet to dust and is hard to clean. I would suggest some type of a plexi glass enclosure around it.

yeah, i thought about that, so i talked the guy into having it put in a coffee table. Hopefully the glass for the table will be here tomorrow, and i can post some pics in the next few days.
