I am doing the final touches on the life size black bear I am working on, and I'm not happy with the base for it. I think It needs more. The guy shot it in a area with a lot of evergreens, and wanted it mounted in that kind of habitat. I have the dirt down and spread some pine needles and cones. I guess it don't look bad. I talked to a few people and asked what they thought and they said it was fine. They said that if all the trees were pines that it would be pretty bare and that the habitat would set the scene about right. I asked the guy who brought it to me for pics from his hunt and still haven't received any. I can't wait any longer I said I will have it for him this week . Any info on what this type of area would look like would be great. I'm gonna poke around on the net and see what I can find. Thanks
Tony

Sorry no current pics. I can't find the wires I need to down load from my camera. This is the only pic of it that I have on my computer. (the pic is from when it was still drying) I thought the nest would be cool to but he wanted it standing on its hind legs with its front legs reaching out. I thought of getting like a small fake pine tree and setting it off to the side to add a little green to it,

If you can find a small fake tree that looks realistic , then use one, it will sure add to habitat. I mounted a small black bear a while back and after making the ground base part I too was not satisfied and I found a 6' apple tree which had about 6 apples on it and put it to the side of the bear and It really completed mount.

I think I will go try and find a small tree this sunday. If I decide it don't look good I'll just save it and use it some where else. I found some pictures of a pine forest, and I think I need to add more pine needles to. thanks Tony
