Did you take measurements when you skinned the deer? You'll need at least an eye to nose and around the neck measurement. If not, just turn the cape inside out to the skin side and measure the neck behind the ears. That measurement is best taken after the skin is tanned

finishing wax isnt a good idea, it is outdated and difficult to use. You should just buy some Sculpt-All or Apoxie Sculpt, those are much easier to use as fillers because you can blend them and shape them any way you want. the wax will give you trouble, and will warp over time

You should just order a gamehead finishing kit.....WASCO is where i got mine....They include all the colors for deer, black, paynes gray, flesh tone, brown, light brown etc. That's for if you have an airbrush. If not you should try the other gamehead finishing kit which is a set of oil paints you can paint on by hand with an artists brush. I like those, they are easy to blend and work with. I haven't had much luck with airbushing because of all the overspray.

Wasco angered me last time they've had thier squirrel kit advetised with manniken included like every other place offereing kits then all of a sudden changed it so for the DP hidepaste tail and eye and a "detergent" (dawn dishsoap) it was $17 then $17 for manniken plus shipping plus COD fees and I had no idea until it got to my door it was going to be $44 or I would haev stuck with a diffrent company.
