I usually take me a small amount of clear lacquer and put it in an open cup and let it thicken quite a bit then use a small artist brush and just paint it on whereever I want and as thick as I want. Lifetone makes a thickener to make paint thicker but I haev not used it.

there's this gloss they sell at wally world in a pink aerosol can, i dont remember the name from the top of my head but i'll check tonight when i'm in the shop. just a small spritz and it does a good job. you can't overdo it though, or it will look fake. sometimes i dont even use gloss at all, some deer have wet noses and some noses actually appear "matte" or not glossy at all.

I think Nina is probably talking about this FolkArt® Clearcote™ Hi-Shine Glaze It is just a clear acrylic gloss coat , I have used it on fish at times when I did not have any krylon triple thick glaze. It will work as Nina stated just have to watch how you spray it.
