This guy was a fighter! He had tears in both ears and a scarred bottom lip, as well as an abnormal growing piece of bone sticking out beneath one of the antlers on the skull plate. Measurements are 7 7/8" eye to nose and 22" at the neck, making this the biggest buck I've seen come into my shop. I just fleshed this cape last night and now it is in the Krowtann. I don't know whether I should keep this on for the competition or to saw it off.

yeah i guess i should. i think i'll get points taken off for having an "imperfect" specimen though. I can;t help but use this buck for competition, it's huge and has a pretty cape.

Leave it on and take a couple pics to show any little imperfections like that and when you take it to a show just give them the pics and have them placed with mount so judge can see, It will show judge that you mounted the deer as near natural as could be done, no points should be counted off at all that way.
