My 81 year old great grandmother tipped over the big container in which I had the beetles in. I guess she doesn't like bugs (the things people do when they get senile! lol) The beetles were doing great and the skull was coming along good, but then I walked outside and there was my container tipped over and all the bugs were scattered all over my gravel driveway. I tried to save a few but it was hard because they were all over the gravel. I just hope the rest don't find their way into my garage and into my house to chew up my mounts. I don't know whether to get more bugs or just give up.

you had better watch things real close, some of those beetles will probably get back in and they can sure mess up some mounts. May want to ask and get a little more advise from someone who has a good colony for quite some time about what to do, I only kept mine a short time then got rid of them.

if a large amount of beetles get in to mount then you will have a problem but if one or two get in you should be able to stop it . i also suggest a fish tank for a lid not so much of it getting tipped over but flies Love to lay eggs in that i have had maggots in my colony 2 times and never had a problem. but on the lost of beetles if you saved around 15-20 of them you should be able to get a colony stared again i have one colony that was started with around ten beetle and now it has 40 beetles and growing so with the right car you should be able to repopulate your colony.
