I've watched a few vid on squirrel mounting and thing but they nearly all say allow ____ammount of hrs to thaw the squirrel some say 5-6hrs some say up to all night but my scuduel ISN'T going to permit thsi I triple ziplocked him (Definately wanted non freezerburned prime one for first mount) will it be ok to put the ziplocks (still sealed) in room temp-warm water I've done it to thaw jerky and other things but I hope it won't hurt my mount becuase I already started it because I have like 5hrs (maybe 6 or so) to thaw and mount him and trust me I want al much mounting time as possible don't wanna be up at 3am mounting it might make stupid mistakes.

Room temp water would not be my advise, but if doing it make sure the water is no more than room temp or baqcteria will inevitably set in. Take it out as soon as it is thawed enough to skin, I like mine still a little stiff and cold when skinning. Then get him skinned, fleshed and preserved ASAP, should be ok, but in the future try and allow more time.

I was getting some clay/hide paste off with a REALLY sharp exacto and I was kinda rushing it at 2:45am lol.Because I wasn't sure we'd have a snow day so I woulda been wrestling today on like 3hrs of sleep.

adn the manniken was a little over sized at the arms of all places so i had to shorten them a little and make a incison towards them but they don't show he's climbing up with right turn.

weasel, did i understand you correctly to say over on taxidermy.net that you sell quite a few squirrels on eBay for $80 to $150? but that couldn't be correct if this is your first mount. just wondering if maybe i wasnt understanding your post on the other site?

I meant that squirrel mounts get $80-$150 useually at ebay I reworded it to sound more like my intension. and speaking of the squirrel I think he's dry enough to stand it up and take a couple pics ( theres wire holsing feet and things in place still while he dries nd pins still in)--------I think I might "casually" forget to take them of his face lol.but we'll see.
